Tom Rawson, a dedicated Scottish primary school teacher and the founder of the environmental business GreenTweed Eco, has donated 250 birdboxes to the Conservation Volunteers for placement around London. This philanthropic initiative, known as Tom's London Communities Birdbox Project, aims to distribute the birdboxes to community groups, schools, and individuals in preparation for the Spring 2024 nesting season.

The bespoke birdboxes are specifically designed to offer safe nesting spaces for red-listed species such as sparrows. Tom Rawson, the visionary behind the project, emphasized the significance of bringing nature back into focus in the capital: "As our capital city, London is the ideal place to put Nature back into the eyeline of the nation. Bird numbers are declining across the country, but the London Communities Birdbox Project offers the opportunity to help out locally imperiled species. I am delighted to have had the support of World Goes Round to deliver this fun and exciting project."
